Scarlett Johansson, American actress (born on November 22, 1985 New York City New York) has received acclaim for her abilities to perform across various genres from historical dramas, thrillers and adventure films. Johansson was born in New York City, and raised there by her father who was an architect and her mother, a producer. Her twin brother Hunter and she were the youngest siblings. At a very young age she discovered an aptitude to act and started auditioning commercials as young as seven. After that, she was enrolled in the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute and afterward was a student at the Professional Children's School in Manhattan to further hone her craft. As a child, she starred together with Ethan Hawke in the Off-Broadway production Sophistry when she was nine. At that age, she made her debut in film with Rob Reiner's North (1994). Johansson then appeared on screen in Just Cause (1995) but her debut came in Manny & Lo (1996) the coming-of-age movie about the orphaned sisters who flee to. After that, she earned an award for the role she played as one of the teens who experienced an accident which resulted in her being disfigured in The Horse Whisperer (1998). In 2001, she gained attention when she appeared in Ghost World (2001) as an outcast with a sly attitude Rebecca. Renee Felice Smith began her professional career at an early age. As a child she was attracted to acting. Smith was offered her first acting gig at six years old with the help of her parents. Smith was in a television commercial for Dannon yogurt. Similar to many actors starting out she decided to hone her craft in the world of theater. In the time she staged her debut in Wildflower she also worked on different projects across USA. Her education was in the Stonestreet Studios Conservatory of the New York University Tisch School of the Arts.
